Napa
Raymond Vineyards
A bold, visually striking Rutherford winery where classic Napa Cabernet meets art, color, and a little bit of drama.
Overview
Raymond is not your quiet, whisper-in-the-tasting-room kind of stop. Sitting along Highway 29 in Rutherford, this winery blends serious Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with an experience that feels playful, immersive, and intentionally unexpected. You can taste traditionally if you want, but most people come here because Raymond turns wine tasting into something interactive, memorable, and just plain entertaining.
History
Raymond’s story begins in 1970 when Roy Raymond founded the winery with a focus on Rutherford-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2009, the estate entered a new chapter when it became part of the Boisset Collection, led by Jean-Charles Boisset. That transition didn’t erase the winery’s roots. Instead, it layered on creativity, art, and sustainability, transforming Raymond into one of Napa’s most distinctive and talked-about experiences while still honoring its Cabernet-driven foundation.
Sustainability
Raymond is one of Napa Valley’s leaders in sustainable winemaking. The estate is certified organic and biodynamic, with practices designed to support soil health, biodiversity, and long-term vineyard vitality. Sustainability here is paired with transparency and education, helping guests understand why these choices matter without turning the visit into a lecture.
Atmosphere
Walking into Raymond feels like stepping into a wine-fueled art installation. Expect deep reds, chandeliers, velvet, mirrored walls, and spaces that feel more like curated rooms than a single tasting bar. Outside, the vineyards and gardens bring things back to earth, but inside is where Raymond really leans into its personality. It’s dramatic, colorful, and unapologetically different.
Experience
Guests consistently say Raymond is fun, engaging, and unlike anywhere else they visit in Napa. Tastings often move through different themed rooms, each with its own mood and focus. You might sample Cabernet in a glamorous lounge, explore aroma components, or even see how blending works.
